To coconut or to not coconut?

Hello blog world! (This is where you guys say, “Hi Dilek!” and run to my arms to give me a big warm welcoming hug…virtually. πŸ˜‰ ) Gosh, I feel like I’m in a different dimension when I am blogging. It’s nice to just talk, talk, and talkΒ nonstop.I haven’t blogged in days because as Alba said, we both got discouraged because we were having and are still having technical difficulties. However, we decided to go beyond technicality and it’s difficulties and just keep blogging! Today started off as a bad day. I was supposed to wake up at 7 and meet Alba at her school to chill a little, relax a little, drink a little (it’s not what you think, it’s coffee :D). Say goodbye to that because…My mom said that she was going to wake me up before going to work and she never did. I know very common and lame excuse but that’s what happened. So I woke up at 8:40, laid on my bed and checked the blogs and my facebook until about 9. Hopped in the shower, got ready, and made this baby…
OATMEAL! I cooked the oats with coconut milk and chia seeds. When I use nut milks such as almond milk or coconut milk, I don’t put water in it just because I feel like the nut milks aren’t as creamy as regular milk so it’s just fine and dandy without water. I topped the bad boy with fresh figs, almonds, walnuts, almond butter, and sprinkled some coconut shreds on top. Although it was pretty tasty, I’m not sure if I like coconut milk in my oats. It made them sweeter than usual and I think I like my oats at its original taste. πŸ˜‰

As for my lunch, I’m eating it right now and just tweeted a picture of it that I took from my macbook. I didn’t think it was worthy enough to go on the blog so I you know, tweet tweet. πŸ˜€ Because of the discouraged Dilek and Alba, I didn’t bring my camera with me to take pictures, but good thing I had my laptop! You can check it out if there is even the tiniest of the curiosities inside of you at: http://twitter.com/#!/TwoBaklavas

Till next time my sweet baklavas!

Bak Bak Baaaaak

Hi there, Chicken Little! I definitely entertained myself with the camera during my ride to school this morning. Does anybody else think I look like a chicken in this picture? πŸ˜€These days, I have been feeling very sick for some reason. Especially in the mornings. I feel nauseous and get hot flashes. Therefore, I get me some tea. Hey, I’m not complaining…I could continue being sick all throughout the semester! πŸ˜‰
Todays choice of tea was the Egyptian Chamomile. This tea works like magic, I swear. I sipped on this bad boy along with a cup of water while I worked on my group workshop for my creative writing class and voila! I was back in the game. πŸ˜›
After studying for a bit, my tummy growled at me asked if I could take her out to eat. I couldn’t break my tummy’s heart so we headed to the Macy’s food court in downtown. πŸ˜‰
There, I got…some sort of a Thai curry seafood soup that contained shrimp, shellfish, veggies and Thai noodles, with a dollop of sour cream on top and a multigrain piece of bread. I also had…a Mediterranean sampler plate that contained stuff grape leaves, couscous, and red peppers.

Now, even though I love eating out, I usually don’t so much just because it get’s expensive and I can’t always find a delicious as well as nutritious place to eat everywhere. However, since the move and since school started, we neither had food that I could take to school and I had 0 determination and desire to just make it work with anything from home.

Before heading to my night class, I met up with a friend by the coffee shop by school and got an iced vanilla latte with soy milk.Β I think I spoiled myself enough with goodies! ….Not! πŸ˜‰

P.S. As for my dinner from two nights ago…I am still pending on the recipe from mama S. I won’t have classes all day tomorrow so hopefully I’ll get it and post it by tomorrow night!

P.P.S. Thanks Alba, I appreciate the loving my poopsy bear! πŸ˜‰
(Yes, we spoil each other too much.)

Big kiss from me to you!!
